Public track names

A public track name is the polished, listener-facing title outsiders see on a shared playlist — your internal names never change.

When you share a playlist, you can give any track a public track name — a polished, listener-facing title that outsiders see instead of your internal track name. Your real track and version names never change.

Set or edit one from the three-dot menu on the track's row in the playlist (Add public track name / Edit public track name). The playlist's management table shows both names side by side — your internal name and the public one — but everyone on the share page sees only the public name: in the player, in the track list, and in download filenames (including Download all).

A public name lives on that one playlist only. The same track in another playlist, or on its own track page, is unaffected — and you can clear a public name anytime to go back to showing the track's real name.

You can set public track names on any playlist you can edit — your own, or any Collaborative one (see Creating a playlist, and who can edit it). See Sharing tracks and playlists for how the share page itself works.
