Choosing your notification preferences
One set of switches covers every project you're in. Here's each one, where notifications show up, and how to cut the noise.
Find these in Account settings (in the Settings & Help menu at the bottom of the sidebar), under Notifications. They're global — they apply across every project you're in, and only you can change your own. There's no per-project version and nobody else can set them for you.
You can switch each type on or off:
- New songs and versions — when a new track or version is added to a project
- Song checkouts — when someone checks out a track to work on it
- Song checkins — when someone checks a track back in
- Checkout takeovers — when someone takes over a checkout from another person
- Expired checkouts — when your own checkout expires automatically
- Mentions — when someone mentions you in a post, reply, or to-do
- Replies — when someone replies to you or to a thread you're in
- Reactions — when someone reacts to your post or reply
- New posts in your feed — when someone posts in a project you're in
- Comments on your shares — when an outside listener comments on something you shared
- Collaborators leaving — when a collaborator leaves a project you own or administer
- Product updates & announcements — occasional news from Dosido
Warning: every notification type is on by default. In an active project that's a lot of pings — trim the list here to taste.
One of these only ever reaches some people: Collaborators leaving goes to a project's owner and admins. Leaving it on costs you nothing if you're a member.
Product updates & announcements is the odd one out — it's email from us about Dosido itself, not activity in your projects. Switching it off doesn't affect any of the others.
Where notifications land
Notifications go to your phone as a push notification if you have the Dosido iOS app, with email as a fallback. See The Dosido iOS app for installing it and allowing notifications.
The ones aimed at you also collect under Notifications in the sidebar. See Checking your notifications.
Tip: these switches control which kinds of notifications you get. To silence Dosido on a device without changing what you're subscribed to, use your phone's own notification settings instead.
