The Dosido iOS app
Dosido on your phone does just about everything the web app does — plus background playback, lock-screen controls, and CarPlay. Here's how to get it and what's different on iOS.
Getting the app
Dosido for iPhone is on the App Store. Get it from the App Store, or search for "Dosido" in the App Store app on your phone.
Once it's installed, sign in with your email and a magic code, the same as on the web. If you've added a phone number to your account, you can sign in with that instead — a code arrives by text. (See Editing your profile for adding a phone number.) Signing in also registers your device, so push notifications can start flowing based on the preferences you've already set — see below.
What you can do
The iOS app is the full Dosido, in your pocket — your tracks, playlists, checkouts, activity, and search all come along. Just about anything you'd do at your desk, you can do on your phone. To move between projects, tap the project name at the top of the screen.
A few things are built specially for iOS:
- Background playback — keep listening when you switch apps or lock your phone.
- Lock screen and Control Center — play, pause, skip, and scrub without opening the app.
- AirPlay — send audio to a HomePod, Apple TV, or AirPlay speaker.
- CarPlay — play your project's tracks and playlists on your car's display, and react from the Now Playing screen.
- Siri — comment on or react to the track that's playing, by voice.
See Listening on your iPhone for the player, and Using Dosido with CarPlay and Siri for CarPlay and Siri.
Push notifications
The first time it's needed, iOS asks permission to send you notifications. Allow it and your device starts receiving pushes — new versions, mentions, checkouts, and the rest.
The bell at the top of the app opens your Notifications — mentions, replies, reactions, and the rest — with a badge showing how many are new.
Which notifications you get is set in Account settings, which you can open from your avatar at the top of the app or on the web. See Choosing your notification preferences for the full list and how to tune them.
Tip: to turn push on or off at the device level, use iOS Settings → Notifications → Dosido. To choose which kinds of notifications you get, use your notification preferences.
