Connecting Dosido to Ableton Live
Connect once, and every Ableton bounce arrives in Dosido with its tempo, key, and plugins already filled in.
What connecting gives you
Once connected, Dosido reads your Live session's tempo, key, and plugins and attaches them to every bounce you upload — no typing them in. It reads the session only after the render finishes, so it never interrupts an export.
Connecting is optional. Without it, Ableton bounces are still picked up and uploaded; you just enter tempo and key yourself.
What you need
Ableton Live 12. Earlier versions of Live can still send bounces to Dosido, but can't connect.
Connecting
Dosido offers to connect during setup. To do it later, choose Connect Ableton… from the menu bar. Then:
- Quit Ableton Live with ⌘Q. Live only loads new scripts when it starts, so Dosido installs its bridge the moment Live closes.
- Open Ableton Live again — click Open Ableton Live, or open it yourself.
- In Live, open Settings → Tempo & MIDI and choose
DOSIDOas a Control Surface.
When the window says Dosido is connected, you're done.
If macOS blocks the install
If Dosido says macOS blocked the install, click Open App Management, turn on Dosido under Privacy & Security → App Management, then click Try again.
If it says Couldn't install the bridge, click Try again.
After Dosido updates
An update can include a newer version of the bridge, but Live keeps using the old one until it restarts. When that happens, Dosido tells you once, and the menu bar shows Restart Ableton Live to update Dosido until you do. Quit and reopen Live, and the item goes away.
Other DAWs
Logic Pro, FL Studio, and Pro Tools don't connect this way. Their bounces upload just the same — you enter tempo and key yourself. See Uploading bounces from your DAW.
