Uploading bounces from your DAW

Bounce the way you always do. Dosido for macOS notices the new file and asks where it should go.

How Dosido spots a bounce

When you open your DAW's export window, Dosido reads the file name you type. When a new audio file with that name appears, Dosido knows it's your bounce and opens the upload window.

This works in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, and Pro Tools. In Pro Tools, Dosido watches for the Bounce Mix window.

Files that turn up any other way — copied, downloaded, or synced from somewhere — are ignored, so Dosido only asks about bounces you just made.

Note: Dosido needs accessibility turned on to read your DAW's export window. See Getting started with Dosido for macOS.

Filling in the details while it renders

You don't have to wait for the export to finish. The upload window opens while your DAW is still rendering, with a message like "Waiting for Logic Pro to finish exporting…". Start choosing where the bounce goes and filling in the details — Dosido uploads the audio as soon as the file is done.

Choosing where it goes

The upload window uses the same choices as uploading on the website — Uploading tracks and versions covers them in detail. In short:

  • An existing track adds the bounce as a new version. A new track creates one, named from the file.
  • If the file name closely matches a track you already have, Dosido goes straight to adding a new version of it. You can still change it.
  • If you re-export under the same file name as the last bounce you uploaded for a version, Dosido also offers to Overwrite it — the audio is replaced, and everything else about the version stays.

If you're in more than one project, the window also has a Project field so you can choose where the bounce goes.

When a matching track is in more than one project

If a track matching your bounce exists in more than one of your projects, the window warns you: "Also lives in <project>. Send it there instead?" Click the link to switch projects before you save. The warning never stops you from saving.

Saving

Click Save & approve. Dosido shows Saved, and the bounce appears on the track page.

To skip a bounce, click Cancel. The file stays on your Mac.

Uploading a bounce by hand

To upload a file Dosido didn't catch — an older bounce, or one you exported before turning on accessibility — choose Upload a bounce… from the menu bar and pick the file.

Turning automatic prompts off

Automatically upload new bounces in the menu bar is on by default. Uncheck it and Dosido stops opening the upload window after each bounce. Upload a bounce… keeps working either way.
