Creating and naming a project

A project is your workspace in Dosido — it holds your tracks, playlists, and collaborators. Here's how you get into one, make your own, and name it.

Getting into a project

There are two ways you end up in a project:

  • You create your own — see below.
  • You're invited to someone else's. Open the invite link they sent you. If you already have a Dosido account, you land on Home, where a card shows who invited you and to which project — click Join and the project's name. If you're brand new, see Creating your Dosido account.

Creating a project

  1. In the sidebar, click the + next to the Projects heading.
  2. Give it a Project name and click Create Project.

You become the project's owner. Dosido takes you to Home, and the new project sits at the top of your Projects list. The name is the only field — you can flesh everything else out later.

Anyone with a Dosido account can create a project, as many as you like. Being a member of somebody else's project doesn't limit this, and creating one doesn't affect the projects you're already in.

Naming and renaming

Set the name when you create the project, and change it any time on the project's Info tab: in the Name and cover card, click the name to edit it. The same card is where you change the project's cover art. Only an owner or admin can rename a project or change its cover — other members don't see the card.

Tip: renaming changes the project's web address. Old bookmarked links keep working (Dosido redirects them), but if you've shared a direct link to the project, the cleanest one is always the current name.

The Info tab is also where an owner or admin sets the project's default artist name — the credit listeners see on shared tracks and playlists. See Artist names.

Deleting a project

Only the project's owner can delete it: on the Info tab, click Delete project in the About this project panel.
