Track statuses

Every track carries a status that signals where it is in your process — from first sketch to released. Here's what each one means, where you'll see it, and how hiding a track works.

The statuses

Every track has a status, and new tracks start as Sketch. The full set, roughly in the order a track moves through them:

Status What it signals
Sketch A new idea, just getting started.
Development Actively being worked on.
Backburner Set aside for now — not abandoned, just parked.
Fix and finish Almost there; needs cleanup to wrap up.
Release prep Getting it ready to put out.
Release ready Done and good to go.
Released Out in the world.
Hidden Pulled out of view — see Hidden tracks below.

Each status has its own color and icon, so you can read your catalog at a glance.

Setting a track's status

On a track's page, click the status chip under the title and choose a new one from the menu. You can also change it from a playlist's status board: click a track's card to open it, then click its status. Any project member can change a track's status.

Where statuses show up

  • The Status column on the Tracks page.
  • Under the title on the track's own page.
  • As the columns of a playlist's status board — see Using the status board.

Hidden tracks

Hidden is a status like any other, but it does something special: it pulls a track out of view. A hidden track drops out of your track list, your playlists, the status board, and search.

Hiding is not deleting. The track and all its versions stay completely intact — hiding just tucks it away. Set the status to anything else and the track comes back everywhere it was.

To hide a track, set its status to Hidden from the status chip — same as any status change, open to any project member.

To see your hidden tracks again, open the Status filter at the top of the Tracks page and check Hidden. Hidden tracks are left out by default. Dosido remembers your filter separately for each project.

Tip: reach for Hidden when a track is cluttering your list but you're not ready to let go of it — a scrapped idea, a duplicate, a reference track someone shared. It's reversible any time.
